Oahu Nature Journalers: In Person Classes
Let’s meet up in nature to observe, draw, write, and learn from each other. Observing and learning is better together.
Workshops are currently being held at Manoa Heritage Center, currently available for ages 12 and up.
Recommended supplies: Sketchbook and a pen. Water bottle and a sit-upon (a blanket, beach chair, portable stool, or a small mat). Hat and sunscreen. Required: A positive attitude and curiosity about the natural world.
I also try to volunteer at least once a month for non-profits around the island, and would love for you to join me and we can meet and talk story! I usually bring a nature journal with me to document the experience as well.
Workshops and Presentations
I work with the Hawaii Audubon Society on providing outreach and education to the community. If you’re a teacher on O’ahu, you can book a FREE* presentation for you classroom about birds, art, and science: just contact me! I have limited availability left this fall and am open for the spring. My email is info@katerighter.com
Nature Journaling Resources
The more I learn about nature journaling, the more I want to share and teach others. Over the past few years I have been working to create lesson plans, coloring pages, scavenger hunts, printable data sheets, and collect links to other valuable local resources. You can see what I have so far here: Nature Journaling Resources – blog and joining my newsletter is the best way to find out when I post new items.
