Ho’i ka wai — restore the waters. For Maui.
“Ola i ka wai a ka ‘opua” There is life in the water of the ‘opua (cumulus) clouds. This is my second image for the kia’i wai, the water protectors. The water we drink comes from the clouds and rain, filtering down through the rock into our precious aquifers, and this is the same water that flows down our mountains and streams, watering the plants and giving life to the fish. This image was made in honor of those whose spirit is of both the earth and sky, the mountains and waters, the female and the male.
